Guiding Professional Scholars (GPS) was founded with a deep commitment to helping students uncover their passion and pursue it with confidence.
We believe that all people are created on purpose, for a purpose. We believe that true fulfillment is closely tied to understanding one’s identity, talents, strengths, and areas of need and growth. These key elements are essential to academic achievement and professional success.
GPS supports high school students in navigating college applications, requirements, and the many steps involved in the college admission process. Too often they are expected to manage these processes without proper guidance or advice. Through our strategic and personalized approach, we help students make informed academic choices with confidence and clarity.

Guiding Professional Scholars’ mission is to equip, educate, and empower the next generation of learners - one stop at a time. We provide college preparation, academic support, test prep, and career direction for high school students and adults. Through our innovative approach to college readiness, we offer comprehensive services including college planning, career coaching, creative essay and résumé writing, academic tutoring, ACT and SAT test prep guidance, as well as individual and group consultation.

Meet the Founder
Stacey Brooks is the visionary founder and Lead Academic Consultant behind our educational consulting practice. With a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Business Management, Stacey brings both insight and strategy to every student interaction. She has dedicated over 20 years to education, working with learners of all ages and academic levels.
Stacey's extensive experience spans tutoring, classroom instruction, test preparation, academic and career coaching. Whether helping elementary students build strong foundations or guiding high schoolers through college prep and life planning, Stacey’s approach is original, interpersonal, and deeply impactful.
For over a decade, Stacey has contracted with the Houston Independent School District (HISD), gaining first-hand knowledge of student needs and school system dynamics. Trained by one of Houston’s leading academic firms, she combines proven techniques with a personal passion to help students realize their highest academic potential and life purpose.
Stacey holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's in Business Management. She is currently pursuing certification through the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners (AICEP) and the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), underscoring her commitment to excellence and professional growth as an academic consultant.
With a heart and genuine commitment to students, a passion for their success, and a mind for creativity, Stacey is regarded as a trusted expert in academic consulting. She has built a strong rapport with many families by providing effective academic direction and guidance to the parents and students she serves.
