Guiding Professional Scholars (GPS) is a college readiness and career consulting company committed to helping students successfully prepare for college and life beyond high school. We guide students through the often-complex college and career planning process while helping them make thoughtful decisions about who they are, where they are going, and what they want their future to look like.
We believe that every person is created on purpose, for a purpose. Discovering that purpose begins with understanding who you are - what you enjoy, what matters to you, and the unique gifts and talents you have to contribute to the world. We help students connect their self-discovery to important decisions about college, areas of study, and future careers, so they are not simply choosing a school or major - but beginning a life that is meaningful and fulfilling.
While college readiness is at the heart of what we do, we also recognize that traditional four-year college may not be the preferred path for every student. When a student’s goals point in another direction, we help families explore other educational and career pathways.
At GPS, our goal is to make planning for the future feel less overwhelming and more intentional - giving students and families the guidance, information, and support they need to move forward with confidence.

We provide personalized academic, college, and career guidance designed to help students discover their strengths, explore their options, and confidently prepare for what comes next. Through college planning, career coaching, essay and résumé development, academic support, test preparation, and individual consultation, we help each client turn their goals into a clear, achievable plan for the future.

For more than 20 years, Stacey Brooks has had a passion for helping students recognize their potential and prepare for their future. As Founder and Lead Academic Consultant of Guiding Professional Scholars (GPS), she brings extensive hands-on experience in education, including college planning and readiness, academic support, test preparation, career exploration, and classroom instruction.
For more than a decade, Stacey has partnered with students and families across private, public, and charter school settings, gaining extensive experience supporting learners from diverse academic backgrounds. Her work has equipped her with a broad understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges students face as they navigate their educational journeys.
Stacey received professional training in educational consulting through one of Texas’s leading academic firms, where she developed a strong foundation in college planning. The knowledge, strategies, and experience she's gained over the years continues to inform her personalized approach to helping students identify their strengths, explore educational pathways, and pursue their academic and career goals.
What Stacey enjoys most is getting to know her students personally and helping them navigate some of the most important decisions of their lives. She brings a combination of creativity, encouragement, and practical guidance to each student relationship, creating an environment where parents and students feel comfortable asking questions and playing an active role in planning their future.
Stacey holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Business Management and continues to pursue ongoing professional development within the educational consulting field. With a genuine heart for students and a commitment to their success, she has built lasting relationships with families who value the personal attention and guidance she brings to every student she serves.
