Students begin by working one-on-one with their academic consultant to create a Personalized Action Plan based on their academic goals, college interests, intended major, and career direction. Together, we develop a targeted college list, identify important application requirements and deadlines, and establish key milestones for completing each step of the process. The plan serves as the student’s personal roadmap throughout the college journey and is updated as goals, interests, and circumstances evolve. 

We recommend academic planning in 9th grade, when students first enter high school and begin building the academic record that will follow them through the college admissions process. GPS helps students develop strong habits in organization, time management, study techniques, and goal setting while encouraging them to take greater ownership of their academic performance. As students progress through high school, we help them stay focused on their goals and understand how the academic choices they make today can impact their college opportunities tomorrow. 

Through one-on-one career coaching and aptitude testing, students explore their interests, strengths, natural abilities, and potential career paths. The assessment results help us identify areas where students naturally excel and we suggest career fields that align with their abilities and interests. We then use those insights to explore potential careers, college majors, educational requirements, and future opportunities - helping students make more informed decisions about the direction they want to pursue. 

GPS helps students develop effective strategies for standardized testing, including understanding test formats, improving time management, and engaging in targeted practice. We provide guidance and resources for mock testing between testing cycles, helping students become more familiar with the testing experience and identify areas for continued improvement. When additional instruction is needed, we connect families with trusted test-preparation partners who specialize in the PSAT, SAT, and ACT.
